Hipofiza(GL. PITUITARA)

-are forma  si dimensiunea unui bob de fasole (~ 0.5 g la om)

-este situata la baza creierului in depresiunea osului sphenoid numita “SAUA TURCEASCA”

-se leaga de hipotalamus prin TIJA PITUITARA
-are 3 lobi : - anterior

- intermediar

                    - posterior

- lobul anterior +cel intermediar form. ADENOHIPOFIZA

-  lobul posterior + tija pituitara form. NEUROHIPOFIZA     LOBUL ANTERIOR  , secreta:

     * STH ( hormonal somatotrop =hormon de crestere

     *TSH   (h. tireotrop =rol in  stimularea gl. tiroidei)

     *  ACTH (  h. adrenocorticotrop = stim act gl. supraren.)

     *  FSH    (h. foliculostimulant=stim sec. de
foliculina)

     * LH   (h. luteinizant=act asupra glandelor sexuale)

     *H. MAMOTROF =det. cresterea  gl. si secr.  lactata

     *H. MELANTROP = h. pigmentiei

FSH + LH + H.MAMOTROF  =H.GONATOTROPI

     *-OXITOCINA(intervine  la nastrea contractand uterul)

     *-VASOPRESINA=h antidiuretic
